Stephen J. F. Holland, Psy.D. (Director) was named one of the top therapists in the Washington, D.C., area by Washingtonian magazine. He is co-author of Treatment Plans and Interventions for Depression and Anxiety Disorders, a widely used textbook on research-based cognitive-behavioral treatments. He has also written a number of articles, chapters and presentations on cognitive-behavioral and integrative psychotherapy and teaches continuing education programs for mental health professionals. In 2009 he was invited to give a Master Clinician Seminar at the national convention of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. A graduate of Rutgers University, Dr. Holland has served on the faculties of the doctoral programs at Columbia University and the American School of Professional Psychology. He is a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Holland routinely provides consultation to all staff members of CICT.

John P. Dennis, PhD., is a graduate of Saint Louis University. He interned at the Veterans Administration Boston Healthcare System, where he provided individual and group cognitive-behavioral therapy for mood and anxiety disorders. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship under the direction of Aaron Beck and Greg Brown at the University of Pennsylvania's Psychopathology Research Unit, where he provided individual therapy and trained other mental health providers. He has also served as the project coordinator for two grant-funded clinical research projects at Uniformed Services University for the treatment of active-duty military personnel with severe mental illness.

Monica D. Franklin, Ph.D., is a graduate of Howard University and Vanderbilt University. Her clinical focus is on mood and anxiety disorders, and she also specializes in health psychology and women's issues. She has previously worked at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the VA Maryland Healthcare System, and New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to providing cognitive-behavioral therapy at CICT, she works on a clinical research unit for patients with severe mental illness.

Katie Hennessy, Psy.D., is a graduate of Argosy University. Her clinical experience includes Maria Zimmitti, Ph.D. & Associates; Pollak Mental Health Services at Monmouth Medical Center; Clinical and Forensic Neuroscience and CPC Health/Chestnut Lodge Hospital. She served as an adjunct faculty member at Argosy University. Dr. Hennessy is a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

Jennifer Q. Kane, Ph.D., is a graduate of George Mason University and completed her internship at Johns Hopkins University Counseling Center. Other clinical experiences include the Washington, D.C., Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Catholic University’s Counseling Center. Her clinical and research interests are in anxiety disorders and recovery from traumatic experiences.

Carla Messenger, Ph.D., is a graduate of The George Washington University. She completed her internship at Dorothea Dix Hospital, Raleigh, N.C., and a post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. She was the Co-Director at the Meltzer Psychological Services Center at GWU. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at Argosy University and is currently Assistant Clinical Professor in the Psychology Department at George Washington University. Dr. Messenger works with children and adults and has conducted social anxiety groups with children and adolescents.

Todd Randall, Psy.D., is a graduate of Baylor University. His clinical experience includes the Hudson Valley Veterans Affairs Health Care System, the Baylor University Counseling Center, the Heart of Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation Regional Program, and Limestone County Adult Probation Department. Dr. Randall provides supervision to other staff at CICT.

Tara Thompson-Guldseth, Psy.D., was named one of the top therapists in the Washington, D.C., area by Washingtonian Magazine. She is a graduate of the American School of Professional Psychology. Her clinical experience includes the Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services at West Virginia University, the Arlington County Community Mental Health Center and the Whitman-Walker Clinic. She provides supervision and training in cognitive-behavioral therapy to other professionals.
